TVXQ, in short for Tong Vfang Xien Qi, is a South Korean Pop group which debuted in 2003 under the management of SM Entertainment. In South Korea however, they’re also known as Dong Bang Shin Ki (DBSK). Their band name literally means “The Rising Gods of the East”.

The group consist of five members, namely the leader YunhoJaejoongJunsuYoochun and Changmin. They debuted on December 26th, 2003 at Britney Spears and BoA’s showcase concert. They performed ‘Holy Night’, and their debut song <Hug>.

Throughout the years, the five of them have proven that they have amazing talent on and off stage, with great personalities, beautiful voices,  sweet harmonization, powerful dances and an amazing image. Each of them is unique in their own ways. Something interesting, this 30 fun facts about TVXQ! xD A song that shows off all these is Mirotic, which is one of my favorites 🙂 Though the lyrics were later said to be inappropriate, the song was still a hit! 😀

So far, they have released 4 albums, from 2003-2008, before the  controversy between three of the members and their management agency, SMent in 2009. They also made their debut in Japan in 2008, with “Break out”, which nevertheless is another big hit! TVXQ also held many “sold-out” concerts all over the world, which proved how far their popularity had grown through the years.

CASSIOPEIA TVXQ’s fanclub

Cassiopeia

Cassiopeia is the official global fan club for TVXQ. The color that represents them is red. It is a constellation of five stars that form a “W” on the night sky. Coincidentally, the word “TVfXQ” also forms a “W” when traced on a computer keyboard. Cassiopeia is regarded as “The Queen”, and the famous line among fellow Cassiopeia during the controversy period was “Always keep the faith” (‘:

As of now, due to the controversy mentioned above, TVXQ no longer has five members ): Instead the group is split into two, with three members joining another agency and forming another group JYJ- in short for Jaejoong, Yoochun, Junsu. The remaining two, Yunho and Changmin chose to remain under SM, so they are still using the name TVXQ. Fans reacted strongly to this at first, and one fan even committed suicide, leaving behind a suicide note saying “she’ll always protect TVXQ no matter what” .__.  Though it is close to impossible, most Cassiopeias are still keeping the faith, waiting for the day that TVXQ will reunite as 5 (“:

K-pop has die-hard fans, even if a band splits the fans can go crazy over the individuals.

As the waves from the sea moves towards the shore, the height of the waves rises to new frontiers.

Such is the K-POP wave, never dying, only getting higher and stronger.

It is a pity to read that the band has broken up, but I hope they will re-group and continue to make great music.

    Interesting read.

    Thanks,
    Low Kar Seng
